Commercial: Uggs and remarkable CG mascara.

Landscape.

This photo is by Peter Lik, and is called Heaven on Earth. I really like this landscape photo because of the colors. The rusty brown- red color of the rocks that mirror the color of the sunset is very interesting to the eye. I also like the way the clouds look, they're big and puffy, they take up the top portion of the picture and balance the focal point, the rocks. I like all of the texture in the photo and the way the river is a vertical line and brings your eye back through the mountains. He used great contrast in this picture. It feels warm because of all of the oranges, yellows, and reds, but almost only at the top. The bottom of the picture looks cooler, like the warm color comes from the clouds. Its very visualy interesting and captures the magical side of nature very well. It almost looks like something from a different planet, like mars. It's a photo that uses good composition and good angles and it also keeps you thinking about it.

Assignment #2.

The Photograph is called Foxtail grass and it's by Eliot Porter. It looks like a whole rainbow of color. It really captures how magical nature is; you wouldn't expect the colors in this picture. It has shades of pink, green, white, black and yellow. The colors and angles of the grass make it look like it's in motion. The colors also pop against the dark natural background. Its a very beautiful picture. With out the colors it would be dull and not as captivating; it really catches your eye. If it was in black and white it would still look nice, but it would loose some of its edge. Its a really soft picture, the colors make it look dream like. It almost reminds me of something out of a fairy tale. It really shows how color interacts with nature.
